Leith is the Jewel in Edinburgh's crown despite Leith only being part of Edinburgh since 1920.
Join your local Leith Tour Guide, Paul as he takes you through the streets of Leith learning about its rich and varied past. Leith is infamous for the hit movie, Trainspotting but there is much more to Leith than Trainspotting, Mary de Guise ruled Scotland from Leith when Leith was the most fortified area in Europe at that time. Henry VIII tried to wipe Leith off the map twice, King James VI put several ‘witches’ on trial in Leith and this event led to Scotland becoming one of the worst countries in Europe for prosecuting people accused of witchcraft. Queen Victoria herself visited Leith, as did King George IV, pirates were executed here too. Mary, Queen of Scots also spent time in Leith, come and learn about one of the most iconic Scottish Monarchs in Scottish and European history.
