On this day tour we go to the waterfront of Leith and visit the Britain's floating palace. It was home to Her Majesty The Queen and the Royal Family for over 40 years, sailing over 1 million miles around the world. The Royal Yacht Britannia is now decommissioned and sits at Ocean Terminal in Edinburgh. Here we will give you time to explore the decks and enjoy the detailed audio tour. See how the Royal Family lived in elegance on the high seas and also venture to the lower decks of the staff quarters. Discover the heart and soul of this most special of Royal residences.
After we will then take you on a guided tour of Edinburgh. Starting of with Leith, the original port of Scotland since 1296. The town is lined with bonded warehouses that were used to store whisky. Not converted to modern flats as part of the regeneration. Continuing the panoramic tour we view the Georgian buildings of the New Town; an influential part of the city during the Scottish Enlightenment. If time we will make a short stop to see the Queen's Edinburgh residence of Holyrood Palace (from the exterior).
In the Old town of Edinburgh we will give you the option to visit the mighty Edinburgh Castle or some free time to explore the sights of the Royal Mile.
