Enjoy a 4 day private whisky tour to the Isles of Skye and Raasay, home to two of Scotland’s most distinctive island distilleries. You will visit Talisker, the oldest working distillery on Skye, and Raasay Distillery, one of the country’s most exciting new producers. The journey also includes classic Highland scenery, coastal viewpoints and island history, but the main focus is whisky. This is a bespoke private tour and the itinerary can be customised. Pick up is available in Edinburgh, Stirling and Glasgow. Below is a suggested itinerary.

Day 1: Depart Edinburgh, Stirling or Glasgow and travel north into the Highlands. Your first stop is Loch Lubnaig for a coffee break and a chance to take some photos. The loch sits in a steep glen and is known for its calm, mirror like water, making it one of the most scenic early stops on the route. From here you continue through the wide open landscapes of Rannoch Moor and into Glencoe, with time for scenic viewpoints along the way. Glencoe is one of Scotland’s most dramatic glens and is also known for the 1692 Glencoe Massacre, an event that shaped Highland history. Lunch is in Fort William before visiting the Glenfinnan Viaduct, the famous Harry Potter bridge featured in the Hogwarts Express scenes. After your stop you take the ferry from Mallaig to the Isle of Skye. Your first stop on Skye is Sligachan Bridge for views of the Cuillin mountains. Overnight in Portree.

Day 2: Your day begins with a walk to the Fairy Pools, a series of clear blue pools and waterfalls at the foot of the Cuillin. After the hike you visit Talisker Distillery for a tasting. Talisker is the oldest working distillery on Skye and is known for its coastal style, shaped by sea air, copper stills with long lyne arms and traditional worm tubs. The distillery sits right on Loch Harport. In the afternoon you travel north to the Quiraing viewpoint for some of the most dramatic scenery on the island. You then visit the Skye Museum of Island Life, which is closed on Sundays, before stopping at Kilt Rock for views over the cliffs and waterfall. The day ends with a drive past the Old Man of Storr on the way back to Portree. Overnight in Portree.

Day 3: This morning you take the short ferry crossing to the Isle of Raasay. The island is quiet and scenic, with views back to Skye and the mainland. You follow the road north to Brochel Castle and learn about Callum’s Road, a remarkable stretch of road built almost single handedly by local resident Calum MacLeod. You then visit Raasay Distillery for a tour and tasting. Raasay is one of Scotland’s newest island distilleries and produces a lightly peated style using both peated and unpeated spirit matured in a mix of casks. The distillery is known for its hands‑on approach, small production and strong focus on local character. The building sits above the bay with views across to Skye, giving it a distinctive island setting. After the visit you head to Raasay House for lunch. In the afternoon you return by ferry to Skye and travel back to Portree. Overnight in Portree.

Day 4: You leave Portree and cross the Skye Bridge from Kyleakin, with a stop for views back toward the island. The next stop is Eilean Donan Castle, one of Scotland’s most photographed landmarks, with time to walk around the exterior and take photos. From here you travel through the Kintail mountains, passing the Five Sisters ridge, before continuing to Fort Augustus for a Loch Ness cruise. The cruise also gives you a chance to spot the legendary Loch Ness Monster. Afterwards you drive south past Ben Nevis and through the Great Glen, then continue along Loch Laggan and into the Cairngorm mountains. There is a short stop in Pitlochry before the final run south. Drop off in Edinburgh, Stirling or Glasgow.
