Enjoy a private tour from Edinburgh to the Scottish and English Borders. We begin the day with a drive past the Berwick Coast and a short break at the seaside town of Eyemouth.

Arriving in Berwick-upon-Tweed your personal guide will take you on a walking tour of the town walls. Situated in England, just across the border it has changed hands with Scotland 14 times! Not much of the medieval castle remains. It was eventually turned into a powerful 18th century military base.

Continuing the tour we go to Norham Castle. Sitting in ruins it was once known as the most dangerous castle in England due to its closeness to the border. After a short break here was cross the River Tweed which leads us to the Scottish Borders. We can then have the option of lunch in Kelso or Floors Castle. We then have a chance to visit the 18th century country home of Duke of Roxburghe.

Our last visit will be to the historic Melrose Abbey. Once a very large religious community now sitting in ruins. Built by some of the best masons in Europe. Look for the statue of the pig playing bagpipes. As you have a guided tour of the abbey you will learn the story of Robert the Bruce and why his heart is buried here.

Lastly we go to the magnificent view point at Scott's View. Name after Walter Scott as this was his favourite view in Scotland. In the back drop are the Eildon Hills which the Romans built a camp named Trimontium. Here you will have the last view of the River Tweed before heading back to Edinburgh.
