Experience a ride on the Jacobite Steam Train. On this private tour that can be tailor made our guide will take you on a journey through the highlands to reach Fort William. From here hop aboard an authentic steam train that begun operation in 1901. The line was intended to help open up this rural and remote part of the Scottish Atlantic coast.

The ride takes you through Lochaber, an area steeped in Jacobite history. This is where Bonnie Prince Charlie first arrived in 1745 to gather the clans, then after went to hide while evading the government troops. From the stunning rugged landscape you can envision how he did it.

Operation halted in 1967, but then reinstated in 1984. Since the Harry Potter films it has become in high demand. You will pass by the Glenfinnan Viaduct which was used in the movie for the Hogwarts Express. The Viaduct itself was built during the construction of the rail line by Robert MacAlpine otherwise known as Concrete Bob as that was the material used.

The Trip ends at the seaside town of Mallaig. Your guide will meet you here after the rail journey and drive you the same way back to Fort William to stay the night.

The next day morning we head up to Fort Augustus for a glimpse of Loch Ness. After this we make our journey south back to Edinburgh. Optional stops include; Pitlochry, Dunkeld, The Hermitage Woodland Walk and Forth Bridges. Reaching Edinburgh about 6pm
