This private tour from Edinburgh will take you to three stunning castles in one day. As we head of the famous Forth Bridges our first stop will be at the historic town of Falkland. Being part of the Little House Scheme the buildings have kept there historic appearance, some with thatched roofs. It was featured in the Outlander TV Series. We will visit Falkland Palace which is a great piece of Renaissance architecture. It became a hunting lodge for the Royal Stuarts which was frequently visited by Mary Queen of Scots.

The we go to the amazing Glamis Castle once home to the Queen Mother. The castle steams from over 500 years of history, originally granted to John Lyon 1372. The building incorporates a medieval tower surrounded by 17th and 18th century additions. Many legends and myths can be told at Glamis including; murder of King Malcolm II, Lady Janet Douglas burnt at the stake and believed to be a witch, playing cards with the devil and many ghost stories.

The last visit of the day will be at Scone Palace, which was the originally place of coronation of Scottish Kings. The palace has been home to the Earls of Mansfield for over 400 years. It has the longest room in Scotland which has entertained many royal figures throughout history. You will have a chance to discover its extensive gardens where the town of Old Scone once was. It has the oldest Douglas Fir in Scotland which tree species is named after David Douglas, a local to New Scone. Try not to get lost in the Star Maze which comprises 2000 beech trees.
