Set off from Edinburgh’s historic Royal Mile aboard a comfortable mini-coach and head into Scotland’s countryside. This full-day Outlander tour blends dramatic scenery, rich history, and the filming locations that brought the beloved series to life.
Culross: Step Back in Time to Cranesmuir
Discover the charming village of Culross, instantly recognisable to fans as Cranesmuir. Its cobbled lanes, 17th-century houses, and landmarks such as Culross Palace and the Mercat Cross create an authentic backdrop. Outlander and even the prequel Blood of My Blood filmed here, making it a must for enthusiasts.
Doune Castle: Castle Leoch and Beyond
Doune Castle, famed as Castle Leoch, offers a striking glimpse into medieval Scotland. Explore its great hall, climb the towers, and enjoy sweeping views over the River Teith. This fortress has also appeared in Game of Thrones and Monty Python, adding to its cultural appeal.
Linlithgow: History and Outlander Magic
At Linlithgow Palace, wander through atmospheric ruins that once hosted Scottish royalty. Outlander fans will recognise it as Wentworth Prison, while visitors will admire its lochside setting and centuries of intrigue. This stop also serves as our lunch break.
Midhope Castle: Jamie’s Lallybroch
Midhope Castle, better known as Lallybroch, is Jamie Fraser’s family home. Though the interior is closed, the exterior remains iconic. Capture memorable photos and soak in the emotional heart of the series. Access depends on filming schedules, but alternative highlights are arranged if closed.
Hopetoun House: Aristocratic Grandeur
Hopetoun House showcases Scottish baroque elegance and Outlander fame. Serving as the Duke of Sandringham’s residence, its ornate interiors and sweeping grounds featured in pivotal scenes. From ambushes in the courtyard to landscapes transformed into France, the estate offers history, grandeur, and cinematic magic.
Return to Edinburgh
After a day of castles, palaces, and Outlander filming sites, we return to Edinburgh. Reflect on the blend of Scottish heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and the stories that make this tour unforgettable.

Departing from Edinburgh

The type of vehicle employed on our tours varies depending on the number of
passengers travelling on a particular departure. Generally tours are operated by 16 or 19 seat minibuses and 29 & 33 seat luxury mini-coaches. All vehicles are modern and specially built for comfortable touring. All vehicles have either forced-air ventilation or air-conditioning plus large panoramic windows to ensure the very best views. ABS, secondary breaking systems and a host of other safety features will ensure a safe trip.
CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS FOR SCHEDULED TOURS
When a passenger wishes to make a cancellation of a scheduled 1 day tour the following charges apply:
- Within 24 hours of the tour departure, no refund will be given.
- Within 2 to 3 days before the tour date 50% of the tour price will be payable unless the seat can be re-sold in which case the passenger will receive a full refund.
