Day 1 - Mountains, massacres and monsters...
This spectacular Highlands and Islands tour begins with a visit to the mythical Kelpies, impressive 30-metre-high horse-head sculptures. starts by heading west through the beautiful scenery of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. The route then takes you through the haunting landscape of Glen Coe (scene of the terrible massacre of the MacDonald Clan) and on through Fort William and the great Glen to arrive at the fabled shores of Loch Ness.

Day 2 - North to Lewis and Harris...
This day takes you further north, first to Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, then to Dunrobin Castle*, the most northerly of Scotland's great houses and home of the Earls and Dukes of Sutherland. Here you can also enjoy a falconry display and a walk in its beautiful gardens. Then you will discover Knockan Crag Nature National Reserve and learn about one of the oldest landscapes in Europe. Your journey through the Sutherland area will then take you on to the beautiful seaside town of Ullapool, where you catch the ferry to the Isle of Lewis and Harris

Day 3 - Ancient history and traditional tweed...
Stornoway is the largest settlement in the Western Isles and your base for exploring the Isle of Lewis and Harris. The day also features visits to the ancient Callanish Standing Stones and Carloway Broch, an exceptionally well-preserved Iron Age structure located above Loch an Duin. In the afternoon you can stroll along what is arguably Harris’ most beautiful beach, Lusekentyre, we’ll then continue down to the most southerly point of the island and Rodel Church, the ancient burial ground of the MacLeod family. Then it’s time for an exciting trip around the Golden Road before returning to Stornoway.

Day 4 - Castaways and coastal splendour...
On your second day on the island, you’ll head to the far north of the island to visit the Butt of Lewis lighthouse (the windiest place in the UK) before returning to Stornoway for lunch and to wave goodbye to the island and take the ferry back to the mainland. Once back on the mainland, we’ll make our way to Inverness, our overnight stay.

Day 5 - Historic battlefields and home...
As you head home from Inverness, you'll be able to visit the battlefield of Culloden*, the site of the defeat of the Jacobite forces. Enjoy a wee dram at a local distillery*. You'll also pass the stunning Cairngorm mountains and explore the picturesque town of Pitlochry.

- Transfer to the departure point from place of accommodation or airport in Edinburgh
The type of vehicle employed on our tours varies depending on the number of passengers travelling on a particular departure. Generally tours are operated by 16 or 19 seat minibuses and 29 & 33 seat luxury mini-coaches. All vehicles are modern and specially built for comfortable touring. All vehicles have either forced-air ventilation or air-conditioning plus large panoramic windows to ensure the very best views. ABS, secondary breaking systems and a host of other safety features will ensure a safe trip.

Whilst we are fully aware that guests may have larger items we will only be able to accept larger items subject to space available. Guests should check with their overnight accommodation provider who may be able to store luggage till their return. Alternatively there are left luggage facilities at Waverley Train Station and Edinburgh Bus Station. In Glasgow there are facilities at Queen Street Train Station and Buchanan Street Bus Station. In Inverness there are facilities at Inverness Train Station and also at Farraline Park Bus Station.
Notes...
- there is not discount for child staying in room with adult
- it is advised to bring a comfortable pair of walking shoes, a jumper in case of chilly weather, and rain jacket/umbrella in case it rains. Weather in Scotland can be unpredictable, especially in the highlands, so it is wise to come prepared
- don't forget your camera and a smile!!
CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS FOR SCHEDULED TOURS
When a passenger wishes to make a cancellation of a multi day tour the following charges apply:
- Within 7 days of the tour departure, no refund will be given.
- 7-14 days before the tour departure, a 50% refund of the tour price will be given.
- 14 days or more before the tour departure, a 90% refund of the tour price will be given.
