This private tour leaves from the Highland capital of Inverness. Today we visit 2 of our historic castles, a battlefield, cruise on the famous Loch Ness before ending our day with a distillery tour and a sample of our national drink, whisky. We travel through dramatic scenery as we sample a unique taste of Highland delights.

Our tour first takes us to Culloden battlefield, the moor where the last pitched battle in Britain took place. We tour the battlefield and visitor centre to learn about the battle and its bloody aftermath. This battle saw the last hopes of Bonnie Prince Charlie taking the British Throne lost forever, the aftermath changed Highland culture forever.

Our tour now takes us to Cawdor Castle. Shakespeare' s play makes this the home of Macbeth, but it is actually the home of the Campbell family.

We tour the castle and it's splendid gardens - keep a look out for the dowager Countess of Cawdor as she lives here. This is a wonderful castle, still a family home but steeped in history.

Our tour now heads towards the famous Loch Ness  - home to our monster Nessie! Will we spot her???

We stop along the Loch at the Clansman Hotel. Here we cruise to the majestic Urquhart Castle with opportunity to capture unique photos on the dark waters. We tour this castle perched upon the banks of the Loch guarding her territory. We hear the story of its 800 years. This is also our lunch stop of the day.

Our final stop of the day is Glen Ord Distillery. Whisky is Scotland's national drink. We tour the distillery and learn the secrets of producing ' the water of life'. No visit would be complete without a sample and a 'wee dram' speeds us on our way back to Inverness.
