Forth Railway Bridge It is in Fife where that was the seat of the ancient monarchs of Scotland. The region is small in size but deeply rooted with history. Located between the Firth of Forth and Firth of Tay, it is accessed by crossing the famous Forth Bridges. The unique design of the Railway Bridge is internationally recognised as a Scottish landmark.

Dunfermline is the former capital of Scotland and its royal past dominates the town. Dunfermline Palace is a former Scottish royal palace; King Malcolm III married Queen Margaret here in 1070. In the west of the town is Malcolm Canmore's Tower, foundation walls of this fortress dating from the second half of the 11th century. Dunfermline Abbey Visit the cave in which St Margaret bathed the feet of the poor. King Malcolm established his court after the death of Macbeth; it is now a ruined fortified tower in the heart of Pittencrieff Glen. The main attraction in Dunfermline is the Abbey built by King David I, it is the burial place of Robert the Bruce and other kings and queens of Scotland.

Andrew Carnegie was born in Dunfermline in 1835. Carnegie founded a steel empire that made him the world's richest man. He established a Trust with the purpose of adding value to the lives of the people of Dunfermline. His attributes include gifting the town with the Carnegie Libraries (built in 1881), Carnegie Hall and Pittencrieff Park. His birthplace has been preserved and extended to include a museum of his life. Visit the website to find out more.

The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews was established here in 1754. St Andrews Links consists of six golf courses: The Old Course, The Castle Course, the New, Jubilee, Eden and Strathtyrum. The Old Course being the most famous and is travelled to play by golfer fanatics from all over the world. You can book your tee time online.
